Depends who your agent is. Ours was a senior guy who was never able to reply to an email and often 'out of the office'. We were always told to call him with any questions, not very convenient if you have a simple question you want answered quickly rather than waiting for his return to the office. His two 'assistants' were useless and just told us to call the agent with our questions even though we had been assured they were there to help if he wasn't. Paperwork for our mortgage was rushed and had mistakes yet we were expected to sign it back. In the end we decided to go elsewhere. Had they let us switch agents to someone who had more time we might still be a client of theirs but they wouldn't.
An absolute nightmare. I'm now 5 months past my mortgage signing and the idiocy continues. Run, do not walk away from these hacks.
We were in the market for our first mortgage, and this place was the first one we went to, based on good online reviews. We has an appointment with Karen, and she was really fantastic. She laid out all our options, in a way that seemed designed to inform us, rather than push us towards something with which we weren't comfortable.
My husband and I learned more about mortgages in 20 minutes with her than in the previous 28 years of our lives. Really great experience
Your home is your most valuable asset. It is probably the single largest investment you will make in your lifetime. Your home is more than a place to rest your head and raise a family. Your home contains equity. It is a treasured resource and in some cases, can even be used as an ATM (aka cash back mortgages and HELOCs – don’t worry we’ll get there).
Everyone who is looking to purchase a home will need a mortgage. But, what is a mortgage exactly and why do you need it? Besides being the term to describe a loan secured by real estate, a mortgage allows you to access funding to procure your dream home.
